just came back from the dinner... it was pretty good. i mean it's at conrad. so what the hell?! it was a posh affair. none of those 'yum seng' sort of thing, tho i was hoping for that. i mean what is a wedding dinner without 'yum seng'?! hahahah! but then again, it was at a high crass hotel! soo.... i guess perhaps the usual rountine was not appropriate. the deco was lovely! very romantic.... roses and rose petals adorned the table. white slip-ons on the chairs, low lighting and awesound sound system. plus the fact that we were served our food individually. what more can you ask for?! altho i wld love to see how they had presented their food!
oh yah! i need to say 本当にごめなさい to the shark whose fins i ate during the dinner. well... しょうがない! i wish they didn't have the item on the menu, nutella too but then the parents said it needed to be in there cos of the other pple... u know going to a wedding dinner, confirm must have sharks' fins one loh! haiz.. i cld have chose not to eat it but then all the pple at no 10 were staring at me... if i didn't eat it, would have wasted the shark's life they said. 'when the buying stops, the killing will' it's true, it's already cooked might as well eat it so as not to waste. but i think abstaining from certain things are a personal choice, reflecting what u feel abt the issue. so this is the absolute last time i am going to eat remotely put sharks' fins soup in my mouth. the cake was sooooo good tho! lychee martini cake. my only grouse is that the chocolate covering was too choc-y.... i had like a whole mouthful of pure choc.. not very nice! another thing worth mentioning is the jazz band that played throughout the dinner, they were very good indeed!!!! *swoon* a couple of new arrangement to old favourite... nice voice and good drums. there was even a harmonica! they played songs like 'sway', 'wonderful world', 'save the last dance for me', 'somewhere over the rainbow', 'my way', 'girl from impenema' and 'quando quando quando'!!! and the sound system was so good that a couple of pple thot it was a cd playing. actually means the band is very good as well... ^_^ ^_^ so happy!!!
the photos and montages were AWESOME! i wish i cld take photos like that. my goodness! i knew stella looked good.. but she was absolutely gorgeous in the bloody photos! never knew arthur cld look so refined and handsome. i have to say the pic with stella in the park was one of the best! and the one b&w with arthur sitting on the sofa with his hands clasped together, smiling brilliantly at the cam captured my attention (note to self: get nutella to send me those photos!) as i was looking at the photos and montages, i realised why girls have this insane, crazed, neurotic even bordering obsessive complusive, fanatical behaviour when it comes to their weddings. it's really once in a lifetime (as all optimists hope! me included) , it makes the wedding for others attending so much more memorable, and in the small sadist part deep in the hearts of us girlies out there, it's our chance to shine. also, we can safely say that, 'my wedding photos turned out so much nicer than XXX (insert name of old nemesis here), she looked fat and the pics weren't as artistic/sharp/natural as mine'. the wedding for girls must be PERFECT (well............... almost!). it is THE EVENT of our lives. i'm not sure for all girls but i'm pretty certain i speak for most girls. which is why i had the sudden urge of getting married.
the best man and bride's maid speech were really funny, heartfelt and wonderful!!! you could tell how much they love the couple and how much they wished nutella and butter well! it was then that i started to think.... hmmmmmm...... *thot process* when i get married (if i do.. that is..), i wonder what my frens are going to say about me when they address the guests. a few choice words and one liners came to mind.

it was really embarassing when butter kept looking at what i was wearing. cos yes... i wore a dress today. and heels... and straightened my hair. basket! i can smell those kind of freshly pressed clothes smell on my hair all night. next time i shd just ask my mom to use an iron to straighten for me loh! and i'm not longer known as 'chelsea'. from now on, please address me as 'ting-a-ling' thanx. it's greatly appreciated. as how butter shouted in front of all their frens, and said in a very loud and slightly tipsy voice to the photographer to definitely, must take my pic, cos i'm wearing a dress for the first time in MY LIFE. hello!?! i resent that. i do wear dresses! and more than once at that. like when i was at the age of 3-7 yrs. and yes of cos everyone heard him! cos he is so LOUD! *embarassed*
nonetheless, it was a great night with delish food, new & old frens, wonderful music and the union of an absolutely dear couple! *yawn* toodles!
sidenote: it really takes a long time to look good. effort too! gosh! so tired just from that!
